After boarding the train and departing your location, you'll take an enjoyable train ride to Temple. Depending on where you've boarded the train, the ride will be longer but just as worth it when you visit our ever-growing and exciting destination. The train arrives in Temple twice a day. When you arrive in Temple, you'll be ready to get out and explore what Temple has to offer.

Our visitors have the convenience of having the Amtrak lobby next door to the Temple Railroad & Heritage Museum and in close proximity to all things Downtown Temple. What can you expect on the train?

The Amtrak trains allow our visitors to Temple to get comfortable. The trains feature wide seats, plug-in power, big windows, and plenty of room to get up and stretch your legs. No more cramped seat spacing. Our visitors can travel in comfort to our destination.

Tickets & Luggage

Tickets are required for travel. Most Amtrak stations have the option for guests to purchase eTickets. ETickets are sent to visitors through PDF attachment in an emailed receipt of purchase. The eTicket can also be retrieved in the free Amtrak app on your smart device. Travelers can also purchase tickets through an Amtrak Kiosk or receive their tickets by mail in advance of their upcoming trip. 

Each traveler can bring up to 2 personal and 2 carry-on items. Size/weight limitations apply. Travelers can check bags. Fees may apply.

Departure

After a fun-filled visit to Temple, it's time to head back to the local Amtrak station. Be sure to track your train status on the Amtrak website to stay informed of your trains departure time. Visitors will want to arrive at the station early to ensure they are on time for their incoming train. If you weren't able to see and do everything you wanted while in the city, the good news is Temple is only a train ride away.
