Lakes
Located in the expansive region of Central Texas, Bell County is home to Belton Lake, Stillhouse Hollow Lake, and the Belton Lake Outdoor Recreation Area (B.L.O.R.A.). These lakes are easily accessible from Temple, with Temple Lake Park being the perfect location to sightsee, fish, and bring the boat out for a cruise around the lake. With plenty of boat and water equipment rental companies, you can find anything you need for a day out on the water. Rent water skis, boats, kayaks, and more!
Stillhouse Hollow Lake is a 6,430-acre lake reservoir located 5 miles southwest of Belton. Visitors can rent one of the group pavilions along the shore for a night of camping, or partake in activities like picnicking, swimming, and fishing.
Belton Lake is located 5 miles northwest of Belton with access points in Temple. At this lake, you can find boat ramps, bank fishing access, hiking trails, and campgrounds. Tour the Miller Springs Nature Center or check out our favorite lookout spot located at the top of the Belton Dam. This viewing area has fencing filled with locks from families, loved ones, and adventurers. Add your own lock to the bridge as you visit the lake.
