Temple Children's Museum

Temple Children's Museum is a great attraction for kids aged 0-8 year-round.  Children experience playtime with sensory objects and activities that work on developing cognitive skills, motor skills, and more. The Temple Children's Museum is open Tuesday through Saturday from 10 AM to 3 PM.

Temple Railroad & Heritage Museum

Temple Railroad and Heritage Museum features historic rolling stock, permanent and rotating exhibits. This downtown museum is open from 10 AM to 4 PM, Tuesday through Saturday. Discover local history, Temple's connection to the railroad, Temple High School memorabilia, and so much more.

Spare Time

Get the family together and head to one of Temple's arcades or adventure parks. Spare Time has endless possibilities for family fun. Rent a bowling lane or play in the arcade. Enjoy A Day On the Lake

Head to Belton Lake at one of Temple's free access points. Splash around in the water or enjoy the weather as you lounge in the sun. Want to make the afternoon more fun? Rent a boat and take the family out for a cruise around the lake. Belton Lake is a sight to see. 

The CentraMOD model railroad club will be open for viewing on Saturday, March 18th. CentraMOD is open on the first and third Saturdays of each month. The building is located next to the Santa Fe Depot in the downtown district at 403 W. Ave. B. Admission to see the model train displays is free. Visitors can view impressive displays showcasing the trains, a layout of Temple, and some of Temple's historic buildings. 

Santa Fe Plaza

The Santa Fe Plaza has a gorgeous green lawn that makes the perfect spot to lounge around on a warm, spring day. This free activity is lots of fun for children of all ages who love to play outdoors and splash around in the fountains.

Xtreme Jump

Xtreme Jump is an adventure park that people of all ages can enjoy. This action-packed attraction features go karts, a mirror maze, laser tag, climbing walls, extreme dunk, foam pits, and an arcade area. The adventure park has areas for open jump and activities like dodgeball. 3-hour passes are available based on the activities you choose to participate in. Pricing ranges from $20 to $26 or individual activities can be purchased for a separate fee. Give your kids an adrenaline rush and a chance to burn off some extra energy this Spring Break.

A must-see attraction for any Texas road trip or day off. Temple's Buc-ee's location is filled with delicious sweets, savory snacks, and all the merchandise you didn't know you needed. Buc-ee's is a well-known favorite and you can expect the travel center and store to be packed with people, but the check out lines are quick and there's always something you can't live without waiting for you at Buc-ee's. Stop by to enjoy beaver nuggets, a Dr. Pepper ICEE, beef jerky, and take a photo with the Buc-ee statue outside of the store.

Cultural Activities Center

The Cultural Activities Center (CAC) provides visitors an opportunity to walk through exhibits featuring artwork from local artists and organizations. The current exhibits at the CAC include Artists of the CAC in the Saulsbury Gallery, Freedman Studios in the Howard Gallery, John S. Hancock, Hanan Vasquez, and Andrew Elks in the McCreary Gallery, and featured works from Rhiannon Taff in the Carabasi Gallery. The Cultural Activities Center gallery hours are Monday through Friday from 8:30 AM to 4 PM and Saturday from 9 AM to 1 PM.

Crossroads Disc Golf Course

Playing a round of disc golf at Crossroads Disc Golf Course is the perfect activity for a warm day outside. This course features wooded and open space areas and is moderately challenging. For lovers of the sport or first-time players, disc golf is a free activity to stay active and play outdoors. Bring your own discs and get ready for an afternoon of competitive fun.

Miller Springs Nature Center

Miller Springs Nature Center is a 260 acre scenic natural area located between the Leon River and east of the Lake Belton Dam. Go on a self-guded tour through the area and see wildlife, plants, and scenic views or take the stairs and walk to the dam to get a photo at a Bell County mural you won't want to miss.

Wheels Family Skating Center

Wheels Family Skating Center is an experience for all age to love and enjoy. Public skating sessions are held throughout the week on Tuesdays and Fridays from 6 PM to 9 PM, Saturdays 1 Pm to 4 PM or 6 PM to 9 PM, and Sundays from 1 PM to 4 PM. Guests can purchase skate rentals for children and adults and training equipment for first-time skaters. During spring break, Wheels Family Skating Center will be open Wednesday from 1 PM to 4 PM and Thursday from 6 PM to 9 PM for public skating. Admission to skate is $11.09 + tax. Get ready to skate and dance to the best songs of the decades.

BitBar is a retro arcade bar with unlimited play on nostalgic video games from the 70s, 80s, and 90s. BitBar family hours are from 6 PM to 8 PM daily. All ages are welcome, but minors under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult. All games are free play and free popcorn is provided. Sodas and snacks are available for purchase. This retro arcade will leave you feeling nostalgic as you play games like Pac-Man, Ghostbusters Pin Ball, Spider-Man, and more. Its time to show the children just how cool 80s and 90s video games are. 

Bold Republic Brewing Company

Bold Republic Brewing Co. features delicious food, a playground, patio seating, and an on-site axe throwing attraction by Black Axe Co. This local brewery is family-friendly and is the perfect stop on your spring break bucket list. Check out a library book from the local library. Want to get involved with special programs? Ask the library staff for more information about their children's and adult programs to learn more about events and activities. Visit the Temple Public Library to read a good book, get involved, and participate in local events and library programs.

Want to stay outdoors as much as possible to soak up all the sunshine and warm weather? Look no further. Temple is home to 66 parks and trails. Check out Whistle Stop Park for a train-themed playground or head to Lions Park for an afternoon of disc golf, walking, and playing.
