What is Petals and Pints?

This City of Temple festival is a family-friendly event that takes place in downtown Temple. This special event features live music from many great bands, singers/songwriters, on-site food, and local arts and crafts vendors. This year marks the first Petals and Pints festival. Due to its fun activities and convenient location, Petals and Pints is guaranteed to be one of the greatest spring events happening in Central Texas this year. 

Petals & Pints will have special activities at each of the venue locations. Visitors can share in the excitement as they prepare to listen to incredible music from local and well-known bands, see fascinating cars, enjoy family-friendly activities, and discover what blooms and brews are all about in Temple, Texas.

Petals & Pints is a free public event that welcomes both local residents and visitors. The Special Events team in the City of Temple has worked diligently to organize performances and activities that cater to families, while keeping a strong focus on community engagement. Their goal is to ensure that the festival remains accessible and free for everyone.

Petals & Pints takes place on March 22 from 2 PM to 8 PM.

The car show will take place from 2 PM to 8 PM, with judging happening from 3 PM to 6 PM and winners announced at 6:30 PM. There will also be live performances and music by various bands throughout the day on each of the four stages.

Get ready for an exciting event at Santa Fe Plaza, Santa Fe Market Trail, and The Yard Food Truck Plaza.! Join us for a day filled with vibrant entertainment, thrilling activities, and live music on four fantastic stages: the Main Stage, Firewheel Stage, Family Activity Stage, and Bluebonnet Stage. Throughout the event grounds, you'll find cozy seating areas perfect for relaxing with friends while soaking up the atmosphere. Main Stage Schedule:

  • 2:15 - 3:15 PM: Jenny B

Firewheel Stage:

  • Firewheel stage will feature a variety of acoustic artists. The stage will be the renovated Missouri Pacific Caboose outside of the Santa Fe Depot, near the craft beer section of the event. Jacob Augustine, Meg Groves, and more will be playing acoustic music throughout the day for guests sitting in and near the beer garden seating areas.

Bluebonnet Stage:

  • 2:15 - 3:15 PM: Red's Terrific Trivia
  • 3:30 - 4:30 PM: Harold Huertas
  • 4:45 - 6:45 PM: Name That Tune Bingo
  • 7:00 - 8:00 PM: Mariachi Fuzion

Local breweries and wineries will be in attendance to emphasize the festival's "pints" aspect. In attendance will be Bold Republic Brewing, Bird Creek Brewing, Nolan Creek Brewery, 3 Texans Winery, 3rd Level Brewing, Dancing Bee WineryBJ's Brewery, and more.

The City of Temple is partnering with Bold Republic Brewing to unveil a limited-edition craft brew that will be the official brew of Petals & Pints. 

Temple, Texas is now a brew-friendly city. The city received this designation as part of the Texas Craft Brewer's Guild's Brew City, TX program. 

The car show will occur at the Santa Fe Plaza on Saturday, March 22 from 2 PM to 8 PM. Visitors can check out the cars and marvel at the classics, sports, and all-around fascinating cars. The car show is fun for all members of the family, especially car enthusiasts and transportation lovers. For vehicles entering the car show competition, judging will begin at 3 PM. The top four vehicles and a People's Choice Winner will receive awards, so visit the car show and vote on your favorite car. 

Cornhole Tournament

Petals & Pints will feature a cornhole tournament. The tournament will be Doubles matches with a 15.5 PPR Cap to ensure fair play. Warm up begins at 1 PM, before we let the bags fly at 2 PM. 

To participate, teams must be checked in by 1 PM with on-site event staff. This is a double elimination bracket tournament with teams of two. For teams that don't have a PPR, they will be automatically registered as 6.5 PPR to keep an even playing field. The entry fee for those interested is $40 per team paid by card at check-in. For first place, each teammate receives a cornhole trophy and a $150 Visa gift card. Second place winners will receive smaller- but just as cool- trophies and a $50 Visa gift card.

Will There Be Family Activities?

Yes! There will be plenty of family-friendly activities for even the littlest of petal-goers as they enjoy this new special event.

The Family Activity Stage will be open from 2 PM to 8 PM and feature a variety of activities. From an incredible reptile show to arts and crafts, there will be activities for all ages. Activities include stilt walkers, a butterfly dance party, thumbprint bluebonnet crafts, a bubble wand area, armadillo races, jugglers, balloon artists, a music wall, and a bubble dome photo op. There will also be stations for guests to plant their own flowers, create DIY butterfly wings, and bounce and slide on a giant inflatable. 

Certain activities that both children and adults can enjoy will also be available, such as the bike zoo, where guests can grab a bike with a colorful display of bugs and nature scenes and drive around the designated area. The Fire Department will provide petal cars and the Police Department will provide impairment goggles.

What Can You Bring?

Petals & Pints is an outdoor, special event which means you're going to be spending a lot of time in the sun and around the event area. We recommend guests apply sunscreen before leaving the house and be prepared with sunglasses and/or hats to help block some of the sun's rays. Guests can bring lawn chairs or picnic blankets to the event to sit on grassy areas. Clear bags are not required but are recommended. ADA service animals can attend the event. The temperatures will be rising so be sure to wear light, comfortable clothes, stay hydrated, and apply plenty of sunscreen. 

To ensure everyone gets the best experience at Petals & Pints, we kindly discourage bringing coolers. Grab a pint and enjoy the great selection of brews available on-site!

Guests should be respectful and courteous to the event venues and staff. The following items are prohibited from the event:

  • Unauthorized vendors and solicitors and materials, including handbills, stickers, giveaways, samples, etc.
  • Weapons (except legally permitted firearms)
  • Glass bottles/containers
  • Personal grills
  • Drones or any other remote flying device
  • Explosives or other hazardous items
  • Non-collapsible chairs
  • Laser pens or other similar products
  • Tents, canopies, or shade structures of any kind (personal umbrellas are okay)
  • Coolers
  • Outside food and drink
  • Pets
  • Frisbees
  • Aerosol containers
