Christmas at the Plaza is back and Temple is ready to shine even brighter this year. On November 29, Santa Fe Plaza transforms into a shimmering holiday wonderland filled with twinkling lights, family fun, festive treats, and one of the most magical tree-lighting shows in Central Texas. Whether it’s your first time joining us or a favorite tradition, this year’s celebration promises more excitement, more sparkle, and more holiday cheer.

Christmas at the Plaza is a special event hosted by the City of Temple, featuring a festive tree-lighting ceremony and activities for the entire family. The celebration will take place at the Santa Fe Plaza in Downtown Temple. Christmas at the Plaza aims to become a cherished holiday tradition for both locals and visitors of all ages.

Holiday Drone Show & Pyromusical Tree Lighting 

Temple’s tree lighting reaches new heights—literally—with a dazzling drone show followed by a pyromusical tree-lighting production. Gather at the tree for the big countdown, watch the sky dance with lights, and feel the magic of the holidays take over Downtown Temple.

S'mores Land

Warm up with a sweet treat at S’mores Land. Roast marshmallows, build your perfect s’more, and enjoy cozy moments with friends and family.

Live Reindeer Exhibit

Meet real reindeer and snap photos that will make your holiday cards extra special.

Carriage Rides

Christmas at the Plaza will take place on Saturday, November 29.

The event will run from 5 PM to 8:30 PM. Starting at 5 PM, visitors can explore the holiday market, enjoy photo opportunities, and spend time with their families as they await the spectacular tree lighting show beginning at 8:30 PM.

Santa Fe Plaza
 

The event takes place at the Santa Fe Plaza, which has ample parking spots and plenty of open space nearby for optimal viewing of the show. The grassy area is closed off to event attendees for the duration of the event as there will be equipment set up. Guests should instead look to view the tree lighting show from the front of the tree.

Get your holiday shopping done right by supporting local businesses and shopping small this season! Join us for a festive celebration featuring many diverse, unique food and goods vendors, along with handmade crafts and jewelry. Enjoy the sounds of Christmas cheer, as cash exchanges hands and gifts are purchased for all your loved ones. Don’t miss out on this holly jolly event!

There are plenty of public parking spaces available around the Santa Fe Plaza and in lots adjacent to it. Be sure to arrive early to get the best parking spots. There is also a parking garage located on S 1st St. For visitors who want covered parking, there are plenty of spaces available inside the garage. While the garage does make for a short walk away from the Santa Fe Plaza, the City of Temple will have directional signage leading event attendees to the plaza.

Bring lawn chairs for a comfortable place to sit and enjoy the tree lighting show. Since cold weather is expected, be sure to bundle up with blankets and jackets to stay warm during the event. Visitors should also bring extra cash, as the downtown district offers numerous restaurants and shopping opportunities. While waiting for the special show at 7 PM, you can explore the local area, including the Holiday Market at Santa Fe Plaza.
