About the Program
The Content Collaboration Program invites Downtown Temple stakeholders to partner with the Discover Temple team to capture professional photo and video content at visitor-facing businesses in the downtown district. Content captured through this program helps us showcase the people, places, and experiences that make Downtown Temple a destination and puts your business in front of visitors through our advertising channels.
Content may be featured in:
- Digital billboards
- Paid digital & print advertising
- Commercial and video production
- Discover Temple and Downtown Temple social media
- DiscoverTemple.com and related web content
Who Can Participate
Participation is open to visitor-facing businesses located within the Downtown Temple district, including restaurants, retail shops, entertainment venues, galleries, and service businesses that welcome the public.
Priority may be given to businesses that:
- Have not yet been featured through the program
- Have new offerings, renovations, or seasonal experiences to highlight
- Align with upcoming Discover Temple or Downtown Temple campaigns and events
How It Works
- Submit a Request: Complete the Content Collaboration request form below. Tell us about your business, what you'd like to showcase, and your preferred dates and times.
- Schedule Your Shoot: Requests must be submitted at least two (2) weeks in advance of your preferred shoot date. Our team will confirm scheduling based on availability. As the program launches, shoots will be scheduled on a request basis, with a goal of two collaborations per month. If demand grows, we may establish a designated monthly content day.
- Sign the Media Release: Before the shoot, the business owner or authorized representative must sign a media release granting the City of Temple and Discover Temple permission to use the content in marketing and advertising. Any staff or patrons appearing prominently in the content may also be asked to sign a release.
- Content Capture: Our team will visit your business at the scheduled time to capture photo and/or video content. Most shoots last approximately 60–90 minutes. We'll work with you to minimize disruption to your normal operations.
- Content Goes to Work: Discover Temple will publish and use the content first across our marketing channels. When your business is featured on our social media, we'll tag your business accounts.
Content Use & Sharing
- Ownership: All content captured through this program is owned by the City of Temple / Discover Temple.
- First use: Discover Temple reserves the right of first use. Content will not be shared with businesses until it has appeared in our marketing.
- Shared images: After first use, participating businesses will receive a select number of images for their own marketing use.
- Photo credit: Shared images must be credited to Discover Temple (e.g., Photo courtesy of Discover Temple) when used.
- Social media: Businesses are encouraged to share and engage with Discover Temple and Downtown Temple posts featuring their content.
Program Expectations
- Participation does not guarantee inclusion in a specific marketing campaign, advertisement, social media post, or other promotional opportunity.
- Discover Temple retains editorial discretion regarding what content is captured, edited, published, and when it is used.
- Businesses will receive a select number of images, but not necessarily all photos, video footage, or raw files captured during the shoot.
- Content may be used weeks or months after capture based on campaign priorities.
- Discover Temple strives to feature a variety of downtown businesses over time, and participation should not be interpreted as an endorsement or guarantee of equal coverage.
- Discover Temple reserves the right to decline or discontinue participation if a business is not aligned with program requirements, City policies, or marketing objectives.
Preparing for Your Shoot
To help us capture your business at its best:
- Tidy and stage visitor-facing areas before our arrival
- Have signature products, dishes, or experiences ready to feature
- Let staff know we'll be on site, and identify anyone willing to appear on camera
- Share anything you'd prefer we not photograph
- Plan shoots during hours that show off your atmosphere (but avoid your busiest rush if it limits access)
Scheduling Notes

Shoots for exterior content are weather-dependent and may be rescheduled as needed.

Discover Temple may need to reschedule due to staffing, equipment, or campaign priorities; we'll provide as much notice as possible.

Submitting a request does not guarantee a shoot. We'll do our best to accommodate every request as the program grows.
