Welcome to the Haunted Heritage Walk of Downtown Temple. Our city was born in 1881 as a booming railroad town and quickly earned a reputation for saloons, outlaws, and restless spirits. Temple has gone by many names—Tanglefoot, Ratsville, Mud City—but one thing has remained constant: the past is never far away.
