An event every week that begins at 12:00 AM on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, repeating until July 9, 2020
Interested young people are invited to delve into this year’s theme fantasy and fairy tales this summer as the Temple Public Library presents “Imagine Your Story” Summer Reading Program. Activities will feature virtual storytimes and guest entertainment including puppetry, music, science experiments, and more! Teen programming will include virtual presentations and social media challenges.
Readers will also be rewarded with weekly incentives for reading books of their choosing. Children not currently reading on their own may participate with the help of a parent or caregiver by reading to them.
“Our primary objective is to encourage school children to maintain their reading skills throughout the summer and support families in making reading an enjoyable part of daily life,” says Children’s Librarian, Erin Gaines. Registration begins May 26th. The kickoff virtual event features Hey Lolly Music performing their “Green Show” June 1st at 10:30 a.m. at the Temple Public Library Facebook at facebook.com/templepubliclibrary/
All programs are free of charge and sponsored by Friends of the Library, City of Temple, Drayton McLane, Jr., and Wilsonart Engineered Surfaces. For 2020 Summer Reading details, visit templetx.gov/summerreading
