If you haven’t had the opportunity to stop by the Temple Railroad & Heritage Museum to visit their latest exhibit, now’s your chance. The museum is currently showcasing a fascinating sports exhibit titled ¡Pleibol! In the Barrios and the Big Leagues. For baseball fans, history lovers and families, this exhibit provides an incredible look into the rich history and impact that Latinos and Latinas have had on baseball since its start. The exhibit builds upon the idea that baseball could build a community and bring people together regardless of their race, gender, or circumstances. Take a walk through this exhibit to see jersey designs from early teams, iconic baseball players, historic photos and learn facts that will inspire you to see baseball in a new light and dream for the big leagues.

This bilingual exhibit offers Spanish dialogue, videos, and options that allow Spanish-speaking families and individuals to enjoy this exhibit and all that it offers to the fullest extent. The exhibit features QR codes with additional information about the exhibit. The exhibition is organized by the Smithsonian Institution Traveling Exhibition Service in collaboration with the National Museum of American History. This exhibition received generous support from the Cordoba Corporation and Linda Alvarado, and federal support from the Latino Initiatives Pool, administered by the Smithsonian Latino Center.

With less than a month left to see this exhibit, you’ll want to stop by the Railroad Museum in downtown Temple as soon as possible to view this fascinating exhibit. ¡Pleibol! In the Barrios and the Big Leagues exhibit ends on October 8. Visit Temple Railroad & Heritage Museum Tuesday through Saturday from 10am to 4pm to see this exhibit before it's gone.

While you look around the Temple Railroad and Heritage Museum, don’t forget to check out the Little Joe exhibit and the Temple Room. The Temple Room features memorabilia from Temple’s history. With school back in session, the exhibit couldn't have arrived at a more perfect time. Featuring old football artifacts, cheerleading and sports memorabilia, this special exhibit honors the local history as well as school spirit for Temple High. Visitors to the museum can view this exhibit now until May 31, 2023.

Join Temple Railroad & Heritage Museum every month on the first Saturday for a family-friendly event packed full of crafts and other activities. The upcoming Family Day event taking place on October 1 from 10am to 1pm is all about transportation. Families will get to see police cars, firetrucks, motorcycles and more.

The upcoming exhibit at the Temple Railroad & Heritage Museum will be Season’s Greetings: Holiday Cards by Celebrated Artists from the Monroe Wheeler Archive. This upcoming exhibit will be available to view at the museum from November 1 to December 31. The exhibit features unframed and framed cards with holiday or greeting things. Monroe Wheeler collected the cards through the years as he worked closely with artists to exhibit their works of art during his time at the Museum of Modern Art.
