UPDATE: 4/28/23 3:00 PM This is a call we hate to make, but due to the severe weather that is coming in tonight, the City of Temple has decided to cancel tonight's Bloomin' Temple Festival. We understand the inconvenience and disappointment this may cause, but the safety of our community is our utmost priority. If you purchased a ticket for tonight, you can use that ticket for tomorrow's event. If you bought a two-day pass, you will be refunded $5 for the Friday cancellation. We apologize for any inconvenience and appreciate your understanding and support.

 

 

Spring is here! The wildflowers are in full bloom, the sun is out, and the outdoor festivities and events are just around the corner. Now is the perfect time to get outdoors and enjoy festivities before the weather heats up. The Bloomin’ Temple Festival has been regarded as a fan-favorite local event for several years. This year's Bloomin' Festival features both paid admission and free activities for the whole family. This family-friendly experience has plenty to see, do, and shop. Here’s everything you need to know about the upcoming festival.

This City of Temple festival is a family-friendly event that takes place in downtown Temple. This special event features live music from many great bands and singers/songwriters, as well as on-site food and local arts and crafts vendors. This year marks the 18th Annual Bloomin' Temple Festival. Bloomin' Temple Festival is one of Central Texas's most popular events due to its fun activities and convenient location. The festival attracts over 13,000 locals and visitors annually and is held each year on the last Friday and Saturday in April. Last year's festival saw some big changes, and this upcoming Bloomin' will be bigger and better than ever.

The 2023 Bloomin' Temple Festival will have special activities taking place at each of the venue locations. Visitors can share in the excitement as they prepare to listen to incredible music from local organizations, well-known bands, national touring and regional bands, see fascinating cars, and seek thrills at the carnival.

Experience laughter, fun, and entertainment at this local event you won’t want to miss.

Online ticket purchases made in advance of the event are discounted compared to the gate price. Gate pricing is $30 for a 2-Day pass, $20 for a single day pass, and $5 for kids (ages 6 to 10) single day pass. Children under 5 can attend the event for free. Online purchases are $20 for a 2-Day pass, $15 for a single day pass, $5 for children ages 6 to 10, with children under five allowed to attend at no charge.

The festival takes place on Friday, April 28th and Saturday, April 29th.  

The MLK Festival Grounds will be open from 6 PM to 11 PM on Friday, April 28th and 11 AM to 11 PM on Saturday, April 29th. The Market Trail Medley (Free Event) will include the Santa Fe Plaza, Market Trail, and The Yard Food Truck Plaza. Friday hours will be from 5 PM to 8 PM, while Saturday this portion of the event will be open from 11 AM to 5 PM.

The event will be held along the Santa Fe Plaza, Santa Fe Market Trail, and The Yard Food Truck Plaza and the MLK Festival Grounds. The MLK Festival Grounds have been newly renovated. This will be the first Bloomin' Temple Festival held at the MLK Festival Grounds since renovations took place. Bloomin Temple will feature several venue locations with incredible family-friendly activities at each stop along the event route. The festival entrance will be located near 301 S 4th St. and Ave. C.

MTM Schedule

The car show will take place at the Santa Fe Plaza on Saturday, April 29th. Visitors can check out the cars and marvel at the classic, sports, and all-around fascinating cars from 11 AM to 3 PM. The car show  is fun for all members of the family, but especially car enthusiasts and transportation lovers. For vehicles entering the car show competition, judging will begin at 11:30 AM and will be based on the Interior, Exterior and Paint, Engine, and Wheels and Tires. The top four vehicles and a People's Choice Winner will receive awards, so be sure to visit the car show and vote on your favorite car.

Yes! There will be a Kids Zone and a Family Fun Zone for the upcoming Bloomin' Temple Festival. 

The Kids Zone is sponsored by West Temple Orthodontics. The zone will be set up at the MLK Festival Grounds. 

Kids Zone will be open from 12 PM to 4 PM on Saturday, April 29. The zone will feature a changing and feeding station, make-your-own-instrument station, ball pits, face painting, music wall, yard games, construction zone, sitting area, stage, sensory activities, and inflatable games. At the Kids Zone stage, guests will delight in a variety of activities. 

Kids Zone Stage Schedule:

  • 12 PM to 12:30 PM - Dance Party
  • 12:30 PM to 1 PM - Hula Hoop Contest
  • 1 PM to 2 PM - Bubble Art and Magic
  • 2 PM to 2:30 PM - Dance Party
  • 2:30 PM to 3 PM - Hat Trick Indoor Soccer demo
  • 3 PM to 4 PM - Balloon Animals

The Raising Cane's Family Fun Zone will be at the Santa Fe Plaza

The Raising Cane's Family Fun Zone will be open from 11 AM to 4 PM on Saturday, April 29. Activities at the Raising Cane's Family Fun Zone include yarn art, lego zone, Kids R Kids, Mathnasium, Unincluded, Bloomin' crafts, chalk walk, sensory play, and bubbles. A meet and greet will occur throughout the day featuring Officer Blue at 11 AM, Dalmation mascot for Temple Fire at 12 PM, Blitz from Spare Time at 1 PM, and HEB Buddy at 2 PM.

Welcome to the Carnival

The carnival is back for the 18th Annual Bloomin' Temple Festival. The carnival will be open from Thursday, April 27, to Sunday, April 30. 

Hours and Pricing:

  • Thursday, April 27, from 6 PM to 10 PM: $20 per wristband
  • Friday, April 28, from 6 PM to 12 AM: $25 per wristband
  • Sunday, April 30, from 1 PM to 10 PM: $25 per wristband

Your Bloomin' wristband gives you access to the carnival on Friday, but carnival rides and activities will be an additional cost. Individual tickets for rides will be sold for $1 each. Some rides may require more than one ticket.  Wristband purchases for the carnival include access to unlimited rides for the duration of the night. For guests who want to visit the carnival before and after Bloomin' Temple Festival, the carnival will be open on Thursday and Sunday.

Saturday requires individual tickets for rides with some rides requiring more than one ticket.

Get ready for fun and excitement at the Bloomin' Temple's carnival attraction. The carnival will feature plenty of rides, activities, and fun for the whole family!

What Can You Bring To Bloomin'?

Bloomin' Temple is an outdoor, special event which means you're going to be spending a lot of time in the sun and around the event area. We recommend guests apply sunscreen before leaving the house and be prepared with sunglasses and/or hats to help block some of the sun's rays. Guests can bring lawn chairs or picnic blankets to the event to sit on grassy areas. Clear bags are not required but are recommended. All other bags will be searched. ADA service animals can attend the event. The temperatures will be rising so be sure to wear light, comfortable clothes, stay hydrated, and apply plenty of sunscreen.

Guests should be respectful and courteous to the event venues and staff. The following items are prohibited from the event:

  • Unauthorized vendors and solicitors and materials, including handbills, stickers, giveaways, samples, etc.
  • Audio/Visual recording devices 
  • Professional or video cameras
  • Weapons (except legally permitted firearms)
  • Glass bottles/containers
  • Personal grills
  • Drones or any other remote flying device
  • Explosives or other hazardous items
  • Non-collapsible chairs
  • Laser pens or other similar products
  • Tents, canopies, or shade structures of any kind (personal umbrellas are okay)
  • Coolers and picnic baskets
  • Outside food and drink
  • Pets
  • Frisbees
  • Aerosol containers

Parking will be first come, first served. Event attendees can park in street-side parking or various parking lots throughout the downtown Temple area. Check out the City of Temple's Parking Map to find public parking spaces available for the event.

The 18th Annual Bloomin' Temple Festival will feature both free and paid activities and events. Make the most of this year's Bloomin' celebration by visiting the local food and product vendors, listening to live music, setting your sights on the gorgeous cars in the car show, or by playing a few carnival games. Bloomin' Temple Festival is the place you will want to be on April 28th and April 29th in downtown Temple!
